Three-piece construction, in silver gilt with red, white, light green and dark green enamels, the pin maker marked "PV", along with being hallmarked with a bird's head with a number "2" (900 silver fineness) to its right, measuring 59.2 mm (w) x 59 mm (h), vertical pinback, tiny chip evident in the red enamels at the upper left of the flag, otherwise the enamels are intact, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Flag of the People's Republic of Hungary was a State Order of the Hungarian People's Republic. It was founded by Decree No. 17 of 1956 and originally had five classes, the IV and V classes being abolished in 1963. It was awarded for meritorious service to the country, until 1991.
