Order of the Holy Crown, Officer's Badge with War Decoration and Swords; Four-piece construction, silver gilt with red and green enamels, date impressed "1942" on the reverse, 51.3 mm x 51.5 mm, vertical pinback, sword point at the upper left bent back slightly, one of the red enamelled beads missing on the wreath, otherwise the enamels are intact, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, Hungarian crown above crossed swords and a half wreath of oak leaves on the cover, slotted medal bed, exhibiting scuffing and wear on the exterior, case very fine. 

 

A booklet, 16 p., measuring 207x299mm, extremely fine condition with some creasing and minimal discolouration, with envelope, measuring 225x313mm, near extremely fine condition with light creasing, scuffing, and discolouration. It is a bilingual booklet containing the official statutes of the Hungarian Order of the Holy Crown, first in Hungarian, then in German. The envelope is dated to 1943. A handwritten note in blue crayon states that the recipient of this particular specimen was a Stabsarzt (Captain equivalent of a Medical Corps); Dr. Ziegler. The award was issued on August 28, 1944.
