Hungary, Kingdom. A Rare Levente Parachutist Badge
A rare Levente Parachutist Badge, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a pair of wings with detailed pebbling, topped by a parachute and skull and overlaid by a white enameled Patriarchal Cross, itself bearing a green enameled oak leaf wreath with a central white enameled letter “L”, above a stylized parachute with an enameled Hungarian tri-colour flag motif, the reverse with one of two attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 78 mm (w) x 47 mm (h), in addition to the missing prong there is evidence of period repair to the reverse, with loss of most of the silver finish and some of the enamels also apparent, in overall better than very fine condition.
