A Grand Cross Set of Insignia consisting of a sash badge composed of silver, featuring a white enamel cross, each arm with green enamel bordering, the obverse center presents a silver gilt Lorraine cross atop a crown on a red enamel field, surrounded by a green enamelled laurel wreath, the reverse center presents a silver gilt field with the embossed inscription SI DEUS PRO NOBIS QUIS CONTRA NOS 1922 (If God Is For Us, Who Can Be Against Us), measures 51.80mm (w) x 56.74mm (h – inclusive of integral ball), weighs 46.3 grams, enamels intact, lightly worn gilt wear, extremely fine condition. Accompanied by the Star of the Order, a silver eight point star with clusters of seven faceted rays, the center presents a superimposed white enamel cross white enamel cross, each arm with green enamel bordering, the obverse center presents a silver gilt Lorraine cross atop a crown on a red enamel field, surrounded by a green enamelled laurel wreath, reverse plain with single pin assembly, measures 88.34mm (w) x 87.97mm (h), weighs 92.8 grams, arms of cross slightly loose, small chis and cracks in white enamel arms, crack in red enamel field of center medallion, very fine condition.
In case of issue and accompanied by a card of issue denoting that the recipient is Ramón Serrano Suñer, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain. Ramon Serrano Suner was a Spanish Politician who studied under Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera, and was a high ranking political member of the Franco regime, as Francisco Franco was his brother in law. Serrano Suner accompanied Franco to a meeting with Hitler in France, and continued to rise through the ranks during his time as a politician, holding titles including Interior Minister and Foreign Affair Minister. As a result of political movements with the government, he was removed from politics and died in September of 2003.
