A Grand Cross Set of Insignia consisting of a sash badge composed of silver, featuring a white enamel cross, each arm with green enamel bordering, the obverse center presents a silver gilt Lorraine cross atop a crown on a red enamel field, surrounded by a green enamelled laurel wreath, the reverse center presents a silver gilt field with the embossed inscription SI DEUS PRO NOBIS QUIS CONTRA NOS 1922 (If God Is For Us, Who Can Be Against Us), measures 51.80mm (w) x 56.74mm (h – inclusive of integral ball), weighs 37.8 grams, enamels intact, lightly worn gilt wear, extremely fine condition. Accompanied by the Star of the Order, a silver eight point star with clusters of seven faceted rays, the center presents a superimposed white enamel cross white enamel cross, each arm with green enamel bordering, the obverse center presents a silver gilt Lorraine cross atop a crown on a red enamel field, surrounded by a green enamelled laurel wreath, reverse plain with single pin assembly, measures 88.34mm (w) x 87.97mm (h), weighs 70.5 grams, arms of cross slightly loose, small chis and cracks in white enamel arms, crack in red enamel field of center medallion, very fine condition.
Accompanied by a full-length green silk sash ribbon. The set is contained in its original case of issue, wood framed wrapped in red leatherette with golden embossing detailing on the exterior lid, interior presents a removable crème coloured velvet bed with base layer for sash ribbon, measures 126.05mm (w) x 291mm (l) x 59.63mm (d), dual swing hooks on sides in working order, considerable contact wear and pen marks to exterior, overall near very fine condition.
