A pair of commemorative trench art brass shells, including a Hungarian shell, the exterior bearing an etched Hungarian coat of arms, above a date of “1942” and circumscribed by etched inscriptions, the base bearing calibre marks, measuring 70 mm (w) x 320 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a Slovak shell, the exterior bearing a central etched Slovak Cross above inscriptions of “VERNÝ SEBE SVORNE NAPRED” (“FAITHFUL TO OURSELVES, TOGETHER AHEAD”) and “PAMIATKA Z RUSKÉHO FRONTU” (“IN MEMORY OF THE RUSSIAN FRONT), with the remainder decorated with a relief of a Slovak soldier, military vehicles, and floral designs, the base bearing calibre marks, measuring 56 mm (w) x 235 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
