Hungary, Regency. An Order of the Holy Crown, III Class Commander with War Decoration 1942

(Magyar Szent Korona rend). Instituted in 1943. In silver gilt with red, white and green enamels, date impressed "1942" on the reverse, measuring 53 mm x 58.2 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, on a full-length original neck ribbon, intact enamels, very light contact, near extremely fine.

Footnote: The Order of the Holy Crown was instituted on March 17, 1943 and awarded to foreigners for services to the Hungarian state and people. It was issued in five grades: Grand Cross, Commander with Star, Commander, Officer and Knight, as well as Gold, Silver and Bronze Grade Crosses.
