Italy (Kingdom).: Bronze, obverse illustrating a left-facing Roman soldier, with a fasces bearing an eagle's head at the far left, surrounded by the inscription "ALME SOL POSSIS NIHIL VRBE ROMA VISERE MAIVS" and engraver marked "MISTRVZZI", reverse inscribed "AL MERITO" inside an open-ended wreath composed of a branch of oak leaves and acorns at the left and laurel leaves at the right, with a star at the open end of the wreath, 29 mm, ring suspension, without ribbon, residue in the recessed areas from cleaning, spotting, near extremely fine.
