Italy (Kingdom): "1ª Divisione celere "Eugenio di Savoia" ". Die-stamped copper with blue enamels, maker marked "LORIOLI MILANO" on the reverse, 47.5 mm x 60.3 mm, die-holes at each of the three points of the shield for uniform attachment, intact enamels, extremely fine.
Footnote: 1st Division Rapid "Eugene of Savoy" (1ª Divisione celere "Eugenio di Savoia") was an important unit of the Royal Army, operating during the Italian occupation of Albania and the Second World War. It was one of three hybrid rapid divisions. For the light divisions, the names of the best leaders of Casa Savoia were chosen. In particular case, this division was named after Eugene of Savoy, General and Supreme Commander of the Imperial Hapsburg Army.
