(2° Divisione Celere Emanuele Filiberto Testa Di Ferro): Die-stamped brass with navy blue enamels, unmarked, 49.3 mm x 60.7 mm, die-holes at all four points for uniform attachment, fine chipping evident in the navy blue enamels, scattered gilt wear, better than very fine.
Footnote: The 2nd Rapid Division "Emanuele Filiberto Iron Head" was a prominent unit of the Royal Army, operating during the Italian Occupation of Albania and during the Second World War, where they were involved in the Invasion of Yugoslavia and the Occupation of Southern France. It was one of three straight divisions, i.e. hybrid divisions initially composed of two cavalry regiments (each on two assembled squadrons and a squadron gunner, always mounted), a regiment of bersaglieri bikers (then barges), an artillery regiment on A group of 75/27 Mod. 1912 and two 75/27 Mod. 1911 motorboats, and a armored group of 61 wagons of the type CV33 and L6/40. By June 10, 1940, the unit consisted of 7,310 men, with 2,154 horses, 418 motor vehicles, 24 artillery tractors, 539 motorcycles and 2,500 bicycles. In addition to the aforementioned lightweight wagons, the equipment included 48 cannons (16 anti-aircrafts from 20/65 , 8 anti-tank
47/32 and 24-piece 75/27 Mod. 1912), 249 heavy machine guns and 172 lightweight.
