An example of an Italian 1859 Second War of Independence silver military valor medal; a round silver medal; the obverse with a crowned Italian coat of arms within an open ended wreath of leafy stems, circumscribed “Al Valore Militare”; the reverse dedicated to “Boudet B. Sold” within an open ended wreath of leafy stems, circumscribed “Guerre D. Italie 1859”; on a broad loop for suspension from its period original ribbon (sewn shut) with its ribbon bar; measuring 33.46 mm in diameter; weighing 18.9 grams with its ribbon; with contact marks from wear, in overall very fine condition.
