Footnote: The medal was instituted on September 6, 1913 by Royal Decree No. 1913 and awarded to soldiers and civilians who served in Libya from the peace treaty of October 18, 1912 with the Ottoman Empire to the beginning of the Second World War. Subsequent decrees established the granting of bars until 1931, therefore, bars dated between 1932 and 1940 have to be considered unofficial.
