Italy, Kingdom. An Order of the Colonial Star of Italy, Knight’s Cross in Gold
Instituted January 18, 1914 by Victor Emmanuel III. In 18K Gold, a white enamelled five point star with small ball finials, the obverse medallion features the raised crowned VE Cypher, encircled by a green ring bearing the date 1911 at 6 o’clock, the reverse medallion presents a red enamelled field inscribed AL MERITO COLONIALE, measures 35.7mm (w) x 36.5mm (h), weighs 6.1 grams (including ribbon), worn on original ribbon, enamels intact, remains in extremely fine condition.
