What's a max bid?

Italy, Kingdom. A Merit Medal For The Marsica Earthquake, Silver Grade, by Stefano Johnson, c.1915

Instituted by King Victor Emmanuel III. Constructed of silver, the obverse presents an engraved facing-right portrait of King Emmanuel III, surrounded by lettering displaying the king’s name, the reverse is engraved by the inscription TERREMOTO 13 GENNAIO 1915 (earthquake January 13, 1915), within an engraved oak wreath, the obverse is marked by initials S.J. for Italian maker Stefano Johnson, measuring 35.33 diametre, suspended by original chest ribbon, presenting general oxidation on the reverse, fine condition.

 

Footnote: This Medal was instituted by King Victor Emmanuel III, and it was conferred upon individuals and institutions who had provided humanitarian aid and donations to victims of the Marsica earthquake that occurred on January 13, 1915. To be eligible for the Medal, recipients had to have delivered aid and donations between January 13, 1915, and June 1915. There are two main versions of the Medal, medals with a right facing portrait and medals with a left facing portrait.
