What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

1. Kingdom: War Merit Cross (Croce al merito di guerra). Instituted in 1918 (in bronze, measuring 38 mm (w) x 44.8 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, replacement ribbon, exhibiting spotting on the reverse).

2. Kingdom: Medal for Service Merit for the National Fire Brigade Corps (Medaglia al merito di servizio per il corpo nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco). Instituted in 1942 (in silvered metal alloy, measuring 32 mm (w) x 36.5 mm (h), original ribbon).

3. Republic: Naval Medal of Honour for Long Service, I Class Gold Grade (Medaglia d'onore per lunga navigazione compiuta). Instituted in 1946 (in bronze gilt, measuring 34.5 mm (w) x 39 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, original ribbon).

4. Republic: President of the Republic Award Table Medal (in frosted silver, obverse illustrating a nude man bearing a torch in his right hand, with the sun and its emanating rays in the background, engraver marked "ROMAGNOLI" (Italian sculptor Giuseppe Romagnoli, 1872-1966), maker marked and marked "986" (silver), reverse with the coat-of-arms of the Italian Republic above the two-line inscription "IL PRESIDENTE DELLA REPVBBLICA", with a branch of laurel leaves below the inscription, measuring 65.5 mm in diameter, in its black leather-wrapped hardshelled case of issue, with the Italian Republic coat-of-arms in gold-coloured ink on the lid, recessed blue felt medal bed, case measuring 88 mm (w) x 88 mm (h) x 22.5 mm (d)).
