Italy, Fascist State. A Griffin & Fasces Bronze Wall Plaque, by P. Bolzoni
In blackened cast bronze, illustrating the three-dimension image of a griffin standing at the left, with a large fasces immediately to the right, its front left paw resting upon the top of the fasces, the front right paw gripping the shaft of the fasces, its left foot resting upon the base of the fasces, all within a circular frame, engraver marked "P. Bolzoni" on the lip of the circular frame just below the blade of the facses, measuring 130 mm in diameter, mounted to a 202 mm in diameter lacquered and tiered wooden plaque, with three holes at the top on the reverse where a wall hanger once resided, light contact, near extremely fine.
