WWII Italian Army Officer's Dagger -Measuring 300 mm in length with the scabbard on, this dagger exhibits beautiful crossgraining, exhibiting the usual in and out runner marks, with a sharp edge and a very sharp tip, with some of the plating having worn off on both sides of the ricasso. The blade measures 173 mm in length and rating very fine. The handle is aluminum with black celluloid plates affixed on both sides, one side with a bronze embedded fasces, the fasces exhibiting nice detail and light contact. It is finished with an eagle's head as the pommel, the dagger measuring 283 mm in length. The black painted steel body of the scabbard is magnetic, features a ball finial, with light contact overall to the body and scratches on the reverse of the chape. Affixed to the reverse of the locket is a leather belt strap, a steel support riveted to the underside, the two ends of the straps held in place with an aluminum plate and screwed to the obverse of the locket with a bronze screw, the scabbard measuring 189 mm in length. Better than very fine.
