What's a max bid?

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Latvia. A Cross of Recognition, Silver Grade, by Bercs c.1940

Instituted 1938. Constructed in silvered fine zinc, the obverse presents an engraved ball-tipped Maltese Cross with a central Latvian coat of arms, within a beaded edge, the reverse features a flying eagle surrounded by the inscription DOMAS UN DARBUS LATVIJAI, the rim is marked by maker’s mark S. BERCS, measuring 36.05 mm diameter, on original triangular ribbon, light contact and toned metal, near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: This Cross was awarded to Latvians and foreigners for meritorious services within civil and military realms. Recipients were recognized for rendering service within the development of the military, patriotic endeavours, and championing public order and national security. The Cross was discontinued in 1940 when Latvia fell under the control of the Soviet Union, but it was re-established in 2004.
