A Medal Of Honour Of The Cross Of Recognition, III Class, C.1940, Instituted 1938, circular medal constructed of bronze, obverse bearing a Maltese cross with eight rings linking between the arms, center of the cross bearing Great Seal of the State and “1938”, the reverse center bears a bird inscribed Latvian “DOMAS UN DARBUS LATVIJAI” (Translation: THOUGHTS AND WORKS FOR LATVIA), maker marked on the edge “S BERCS”. Measuring 36.10 mm (w) x 40.38 mm (h- to top of ring suspension), weighing 23.2 g, with suspension ring, on a red triangular ribbon with light coloured stripes, very fine. Accompanied by two cap badges, and five insignias.
