A Montenegrin Order of Danilo; 2nd Class Commander Set (1861-1918)
Montenegro: 2nd Model; Badge: multi-piece construction, silver with red, white and blue enamels, Austrian hallmarked with a dog's head (.800 silver), marked with a Diana's head (Dianakopf) hallmark, which was used between 1872 and 1922, the number "3" to the left of her head indicating the silver fineness and the letter "A" to the right of her head indicating the city of assay (Vienna) and maker marked "VM" (Vincent Mayer Sons, Vienna) on the ring, 50.2 mm x 74.5 mm inclusive of its crown suspension, on a full-length neck ribbon; and Breast Star: multi-piece construction, Gold cypher and lettering on a silver with red, white and blue enamelled cross, mounted to a sixteen-pointed star base, dual city marked "A" (Vienna) on the pin, maker marked "VINC. MAYER'S SÖHNE WIEN" (Vincent Mayer Sons, Vienna) on the reverse cartouche, 72.2 mm x 73 mm, vertical pinback. Very minor contact evident in the red enamels on the obverse centrepiece on the badge, near extremely fine.
