(Орден Књаза Данила I/Orden Knjaza Danila I). Instituted in 1853. Type IV. (1861 -1918 Issue). Of Austrian manufacture, in silver gilt presenting a cross with white, red and blue enamelled arms, the obverse medallion in Gold features a centerpiece with a DI cypher on a red enamelled field, encircled by a blue enamelled ring with the inscription ЗА НЕЗАВИСИМОСТЪ ЦРНЕ ГОРЕ (For the Independence of Montenegro), again surrounded by a white enamel ring, the reverse medallion in Gold presents the year 1852-3 on a red enamelled field, encircled by a red enamelled ring with the inscription КНЯЗЪ ЦРНОГОРСКІИ (Prince of Montenegro), with a white enamel ring, the badge is surmounted by a large Gold crown with moveable pendilia, measures 49.7mm (w) x 74.0mm (h), weighs 45.8 grams, marked on the ring with the makers mark VM denoting Vincent Mayer Sohne manufacture, marked on the loop and the suspension bar with a Dog head, denoting Austro-Hungarian manufacture 1872-1922 for minor gold items, enamels intact, a stunning decoration in better than extremely fine condition.
