Netherlands, Kingdom. A National Socialist Movement (NSB) "Flower Bulbs" March Badge 1943
In silvered zinc with red enamels, obverse illustrating a coat-of-arms bearing a sword, four flowers and a Maltese cross, the arms surmounted by a crown, reverse inscribed "1943 / BLOEMBOLLEN- / MARSCH", measuring 44.5 mm (w) x 43.3 mm (h), scattered silvering wear, original ribbon, better than very fine.
Footnote: Anton Adriaan Mussert (May 11, 1894 - May 7, 1946) was one of the founders of the National Socialist Movement in the Netherlands (NSB) and its formal leader. As such, he was the most prominent Dutch fascist before and during the Second World War. During the war, he was able to keep this position, due to the support he received from the Germans. After the war, he was convicted and executed for high treason.
