Netherlands, Kingdom. A Set of Post-Occupation Satirical Postcards by Ton Smits
A set of seven satirical postcards depicting illustrations by Dutch cartoonist Ton Smits, featuring full-colour caricatures of key Third Reich figures including AH, Joseph Goebbels, and Heinrich Himmler capturing the spirit of the crumbling Third Reich in the waning days of the Second World War, the reverse of each fully unmarked and bearing Eindhoven studio stamps, part of a series produced in the former immediately following its liberation in September 1944, each card measuring 104 mm (w) x 146 mm (h), with only minor age-related discolouration evident, a superb set of post-occupation satire in near extremely fine condition.
