(Konge Haakon VII 70-års-medalje). Instituted in 1942. In bronze, engraver marked "O SØRENSEN" on the obverse, maker marked "J. TOSTRUP" on the reverse, measuring 33 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), original ribbon, spotting, near extremely fine.

Footnote: The Medal for the 70th Birthday of King Haakon VII was instituted on October 27, 1942 and awarded to members of the military who were serving with the Norwegian armed forces in Britain on King Haakon's 70th birthday, August 3, 1942, as a symbol of Norway's continuing resistance and hopes of eventual liberation.
