Norway, Nasjonal Samling. An Order of Bravery and Loyalty, II Class, Type II
(Orden Tapper og Tro). Constructed of bronze with gilt and enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with clasp and horizontal pinback, consisting of a Latin Cross with crossed swords piercing the centre, the obverse bearing a gilded Norwegian national eagle clutching a gilded and enameled Nasjonal Samling insignia, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “TAPPER OG TRO” (“BRAVERY AND LOYALTY”), unmarked, measuring 43.36 mm (w) x 45.46 mm (h), weighing 19.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating some scratching to the finish of the base metal, in near extremely fine condition.
