Instituted May 18 1945. In silver gilt, a Maltese cross with white enamel arms, the obverse medallion features the monogram of King Haakon VII over the letter V for Victory, the reverse is embossed ALT FOR NORGE 7 JUN 1945 (All for Norway June 7 1945), marked J. TOSTRUP and 925S on 6 o’clock arm, measures 41.4mm (w) x 44.5mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), worn on original ribbon with pin on reverse, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The medal is awarded to Norwegian or foreign military or civilian personnel for outstanding achievements during war. June 7, 1945 is the day the King returned to Norway following his exile during the war.
