Footnote: General Zdrojewski, delegate of the minister of the Polish government in exile in London and military leader of the Polish Resistance in France, decided in 1945 to create the commemorative medal of the Polish Resistance in France. This decoration rewards all Poles and the many French and foreigners who had served, under his orders, in an exceptional manner, in the fight against the common enemy. According to the will of General Zdrojewski, this medal was to constitute a testimony of fraternity in arms of the French Forces of the Interior of Polish origin to their French comrades.
