In silver, obverse illustrating the left-facing bust of group commander General Karol Swierczewski, surrounded by the inscription "ZA WASZA WOLNOOSC I NASZA" (For Your Freedom and Ours), reverse illustrating the XIII International Brigade breast badge (a triangular star resting upon a wreath of laurel leaves, inscribed "XIII / BI / 1936-1939" on the star), surrounded by the inscription "DABROWSZCZAKOM" (Dabrowski, unit named for the General) and dated "1956" below, measuring 35 mm in diameter, contact marks, original ribbon, very fine.
Footnote: The Medal for Your Freedom and Ours was established in 1956 and awarded to all former members of the XIII International Brigade who fought in Spain on the Republican side during the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939.
