What's a max bid?

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Portugal, Kingdom. Military Order of Christ, I Class Grand Cross

(Ordem Militar de Cristo). Instituted in 1917. In silver gilt with red and white enamels, unmarked, measuring 45.5 mm (w) x 84.7 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, two nicks evident on the edge of the arm at 6 o'clock, traces of gilt remains on the badge, very light contact, accompanied by its full-length sash that incorporates a decorative moiré pattern and features a large bow-tie, near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The Military Order of Christ was instituted in 1917, based on the earlier Order of Christ and is awarded for outstanding services to the Republic in government, diplomacy, public service and administration, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
