An outstanding early British manufactured collar in silver gilt, consisting of twenty six link, alternating die struck laurels with sword and stylized towers, central dual affixed link supporting a swivel clasp for badge, reverse well hallmarked with each link presenting a clear British markings, reverse of 3 o'clock link presenting full set including profile of King George IV, profile of lion denoting .925 Sterling Silver, date letter "r" denoting 1832 production, uncrowned lion head denoting the City of London, and makers mark AJS for Alexander J Strachan, sword and laurel link measuring 33 mm (w) x 29 mm (h). with tower links measuring 18 mm (w) x 26 mm (h), total weight of 315 grams, extremely fine.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
