A circular medal in silver gilt, with obverse depicting the effigy of the Portuguese Republic surrounded by the inscription REPUBLICA PORTUGUEZA 1910 (Portuguese Republic), the reverse inscribed MEDALHA MILITAR COMPORTAMENTO EXEMPLAR (Military Medal, Exemplary Conduct) within a laurel wreath, suspended by a typical Portuguese elongated loop suspension with pin, hallmarked by Portuguese hallmark denoting .833 silver purity since 1886 until 1938, presenting unreadable maker’s mark, measuring 33.07 mm (w) x 36.67 mm (h - including integral pin), with toned silver, accompanied by original ribbon with traditional Portuguese rectangular hanger, extremely good.
Footnote: The Exemplary Conduct Medal is awarded to Portuguese military personnel in recognition of exemplary moral conduct, loyalty, and spirit over a long military career. The Gold Medal was awarded in recognition of 30 years of service during the republic.
