In silver gilt, an enameled white four armed Cross with three-pointed ends, featuring a finely enameled red Latin cross on each arm, with double-sided design, surmounted by a Portuguese national tower, measuring 31.31 mm (w) x 45.98 mm (h - inclusive of tower and integral ball), with tarnished silver, suspended by original breast ribbon with a gilded clasp depicting a badge of the Order, overall very good.
Footnote: The order was instituted in Portugal on May 28, 1946 to be awarded to Portuguese military personnel who display exceptional military qualities and virtues that merit public respect and acknowledgement.
