1826-1834 Issue. In bronze, obverse illustrating the left-facing busts of King Dom Pedro IV and his eldest daughter, Doña Maria II, inscribed D. PEDRO IV - D. MARIA II, reverse with number "3" in the centre, surrounded by the inscription CAMPANHAS DA LIBERDADE - 1826 - 1834 in the outsider border, measuring 30.27 mm (w) x 34.33 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), scattered wear surfaces, fine.
Footnote: The Medal of Pedro and Maria was established in commemoration of the campaigns that were waged from 1826-1834 during the Portuguese Civil War. It was awarded in military and civil divisions in order to reflect the type of service that was rendered by the recipient.
