A 1927-1933 Romanian Association for the Promotion of Aviation Medal - Bronze, engraver marked "R. FÄSSLER" on the obverse, 35 mm, original ribbon, missing part of its ring suspension, discolouration on the reverse, very light contact, better than very fine. Footnote: The Association was founded in Bucharest in 1927 with the aim of popularizing flying. It acquired more than forty aeroplanes and was active at the Baneasa, Clinceni Giulesti, Otopeni and Popesti-Leordeni airfields around Bucharest and elsewhere in provincial centres such as Alexandria, Cluj and Iasi. Romania had a considerable aviation industry in the 1920s and 1930s, employing more than 20,000 workers producing more than sixty (some sources say eighty) different types of aircraft.
