What's a max bid?

Romania, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown of Romania, III Class Commander, Civil Division

(Ordin "Corona Romaniei"). Instituted in 1881. Type I (1881-1941). In silver gilt with red and white enamels, Romanian crown on the obverse centrepiece, maker marked and medal content marked "JRF ARG." (Joseph Resch Fils, Bucharest; Argint = Silver) on the obverse of the loop, measuring 62 mmm (w) x 62.5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, intact enamels, very light contact, traces of gilt remains, on an original shortened ribbon, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, black pebbled exterior, crowned monogram of King Carol I in gold-coloured ink on the lid, inside lid in white satin, padded and maker marked "Joseph Resch & Fii Bucharest", base with a recessed medal bed in forest green felt, measuring 85 mm (w) x 151 mm (h) x 29.5 mm (d), exhibiting light wear on the exterior and on the maker mark on the inside lid, wear evident in the fabric overlying the hinged area, the forest green of the medal bed with slight discolouration, case very fine.

 

Footnote: The Order of the Crown of Romania is a chivalric order established on March 14, 1881 by King Carol I of Romania, to commemorate the establishment of the Kingdom of Romania. It was awarded as a state order until the end of the Romanian monarchy in 1947 and was revived on December 30, 2011 as a dynastic order. The order had five classes: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
