Order of the Star of Romania -Type II (Carol I); in silver and enamels; obverse with a central medallion of the cypher of Carol I, circumscribed in gilt“La Fide Salus” in blue enamels, surmounted by a green enameled wreath; with a blue enameled cross, and eagles with crossed swords between the arms; the reverse with a central enamel medallion “1877” in gilt; attached to crown with a horizontally-pierced ball for ribbon suspension; on original ribbon; measuring 62 mm x 40 mm; contact marks; very fine condition.
