In silver gilt, a blue enamelled cross with an eagle in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features the cypher of Carol I on a red enamelled field, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed IN FIDE SALUS, encircled by a green enamelled wreath, the reverse bears the date 1877 on a red field, the cross is surmounted by a large crown, makers mark on the edge of the 6 o’clock arm denotes RESCH, measures 65.2mm (w) x 96.8mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), weighs 59.2 grams, enamels intact, light gilt wear, remains in extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by a replacement full length sash of the Order, tie for cross attachment not present.
