Romania, Kingdom. An Order of the Star, Knight, Military Division, Type II (1932-1947)
Ordinul Steaua României, Cavaler, Militar. Instituted in 1877. In silver with red, green and blue enamels, cypher of Carol I on the obverse centrepiece, "1877" on the reverse centrepiece, measuring 41 mm (w) x 63 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, intact enamels, on its original ribbon with hook and eye, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Star of Romania is Romania's highest civil Order and second highest State decoration after the defunct Order of Michael the Brave. It was instituted in 1877 and originally awarded in six grades: Grand Cross with Collar, Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
