Type I (1877-1932). In silver with red, green and blue enamels, maker marked "RESCH" (Joseph Resch, Bucharest) on the edge of the arm at 6 o'clock, Romanian eagle on the obverse centrepiece, measuring 41.5 mm (w) x 67.5 mm (h) inclusive of its crown and crossed swords suspension, intact enamels, original ribbon with hook and eye, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Star of Romania is Romania's highest civil Order and second highest State decoration after the defunct Order of Michael the Brave. It was originally awarded in six grades: Grand Cross with Collar, Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
