Russia, Imperial. A Pair of Decorations
A pair of decorations, including a Tsar Alexander III uniform cypher, constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of the Tsar’s stylized monogram, the reverse retaining all three attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 30 mm (w) x 55 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a 1917 Medal to Fighters for the Motherland and Freedom, constructed of a silvered bronze alloy, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of St. George slaying a dragon, the reverse bearing a Russian Cyrillic inscription of “БОРЦАМЪ ЗА РОДИНУ И СВОБОДУ 1917” (“FIGHTER FOR THE MOTHERLAND AND FREEDOM 1917”), set within a wreath, unmarked, measuring 29 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.
