Russia, Imperial. A White Émigré Decoration, c.1925
Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with red enameled arms trimmed with gilt and black enamels, bearing a central raised medallion overlaid by a Romanov imperial eagle superimposed on a ribbed background, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop and suspension ring connecting to a period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 37.98 mm (w) x 41.81 mm (h), weighing 13.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), with some flecking and oxidation visible to the enamels and base metal, respectively, a White Émigré example reminiscent of the Order of Saint Vladimir, possibly issued by the House of Romanov in exile, in near extremely fine condition.
