Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing raised and rightward-facing profiles of Tsar Alexander II and Tsarina Maria, circumscribed by names and titles in Russian Cyrillic, with a date of “1863”, the reverse bearing a raised depiction of the female personification of wisdom, surrounded by children and situated beneath the symbol of providence, circumscribed by Cyrillic inscriptions indicating that the medal was issued to celebrate the 1863 centenary of the Educational House in Moscow, measuring 50 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
