Russia, Imperial. A Cavalry Sword, Persian Cossack Brigade, 1881-1917
The sword measures at 97 cm in total length, with a solid silver blade measuring at 3 cm wide, and has an Eastern Arabic engraving along the top of blade denoting the numerals “1 8 8 4 4”, the rest of the blade is blank. The hilt is in brass and features a wooden grip with slanted ribs and a simple pommel. The hilt also has the Eastern Arabic numerals “1 8 8 4 4” engraved on the brass pommel. The scabbard is made from iron and has a loop affixed to it, along with the Eastern Arabic numerals “2 2 7 5” etched into the top and another set of the same numerals etched into the bottom. The scabbard measures at 63.5 cm (l) and the hilt measures at 14.5 cm (l) x 9.5cm (w), very fine.
