Serbia, Kingdom. An Order of Karageorge, Third Class Commander, Military Division, c.1915
(Orden Karađorđeve zvezde). In silver gilt, consisting of a four armed white enameled cross, exhibiting the manufacturing characteristics of French maker A. Bertrand, measuring 48.5 mm (w) x 78.00 mm (h- inclusive of crown with horizontally pierced ball suspension adorned by crown), with original wide red Commander's ribbon, with an old very small enamel restoration on the obverse centre, otherwise extremely fine. Accompained by case of issue, with wear and some repaired, interior lid marked "Arthus Bertrand, Béranger et Magdelaine, rue de Rennes, Paris" , good. Footnote: Third Class with Swords was seldom awarded for exceptional Military Bravery and leadership; this is a very fine example in excellent condition, and comes with very scarce case of issue.
