Grand Cross Star, in silver, silver gilt and enamels, 82.5mm(w) x 90.0mm(h), pin marked "VM", along with "A A" (Austrian Imperial proof hallmarks), with cartouche marked “Vincent Mayer’s Söhne Wien”; center of the star with chipping to blue enamels, with nice dark patina, worn example, in very fine condition; a scarce and early maker of this insignia.
