(Orden Karađorđeve zvezde). Instituted in 1904. Military Division. Of French manufacture, Grand Cross set comprising the badge, in silver gilt, featuring a white enamelled crown with multiple smooth rays in each quadrant, crossed swords pierce the center medallion, the obverse medallion with red, white and blue enamels surrounded by a white ring inscribed за вба8 и слобод8 1804 (For Faith and Liberty 1804), the reverse features a double headed eagle on a red enamelled background, surrounded by a blue enamelled ring inscribed петар 1 1904 (Petar 1 1904), surmounted by a crown with red, green, and white enamel details, measures 46.9mm (w) x 76.8mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned ball suspension on crown), measures 34.0 grams, marked on the suspension ring with makers mark A B & Cie denoting Bertrand manufacture, with an eagle head denoting (silver) manufacture in Paris, eagle mark also found on suspension and reverse of 6 o’clock arm, worn on a full length sash with large rosette, enamels intact, light wear, in extremely fine condition. The Star of the Order, a silver eight point star with clusters of seven smooth rays, the superimposed obverse medallion features a white enamelled crown with multiple smooth rays in each quadrant, crossed swords pierce the center medallion, the obverse medallion with red, white and blue enamels surrounded by a white ring inscribed за вба8 и слобод8 1804 (For Faith and Liberty 1804), the reverse features a vertical pin flanked by dual stays, measure 81.9mm (w) x 82.3mm (h), weighs 56.8 grams, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition. A Rare set of insignia in excellent condition.
