Serbia, Kingdom. A First War Medal Bar

A lovely medal bar, comprising eight decorations worn on a large horizontal bar with medal hooks on the front between each ribbon, the reverse presents black felt backing with a single horizontal pin, measures 220mm (w), and weighs 266.8 grams in total, light wear to bar, replacement white eagle ribbon, Yugoslav crown ribbon and legion of honour ribbon, however, remains in extremely fine condition. The decorations include:

Serbia, Kingdom. An Order of the White Eagle, in silver with white enamels in the shape of a double headed eagle, the center medallion featuring a white enamelled cross, the reverse medallion presents the year 1882 on a red enamelled field, above the eagle sits two crossed swords secured to the blue enamelled pendilia surmounted by a crown suspension, measures 31.0mm (w) x 65.1mm (h), wear to enamel on tail, remains in very fine condition.

Serbia, Kingdom. An Order of St. Sava, Knight, Type III (1922-1941), in silver gilt, a white and blue enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, double headed crowned eagles in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features St. Sava in green robes, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed троvломb сконмb вbса прнобрвте (One’s Own Work Achieves All), the reverse medallion presents the years 1883, the badge is surmounted by a large crown, measures 41.4mm (w) x 65.6mm (h), enamel chip to inscription ring, ad reverse medallion, dark patina and scattered gilt wear, in very fine condition.

Yugoslavia, Kingdom. An Order of the Yugoslav Crown, Knight, in silver with multiple white enamel rays with a ball finial, green enamelled wreath in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a large highly detailed crown in multi-coloured enamels, the reverse presents the inscription 3-X 1929, the cross is surmounted by a green enamelled wreath, measuring 42.7mm (w) x 57.2mm (h), minor enamel chips to wreath, otherwise in extremely fine condition.

France, Third Republic. An Order of the Legion of Honour, Knight, in silver, a white enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, green enamelled wreath in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a Gold bust of Marianne, surrounded by a blue enamelled ring inscribed REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE 1870, the reverse features crossed French flags surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed HONNEUR ET PATRIE, the cross is surmounted by a wreath, measures 40.4mm (w) x 59.2mm (h), marked on ribbon tassel at 6 o’clock, minor wear to enamels, in very fine condition.

France, Republic. A Croix de Guerre, in bronze, featuring a cross pattee with crossed swords through the center, the reverse is dated 1914 1917, measures 37.5mm (w) x 45.7mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

Serbia, Kingdom. A Medal for Military Virtue, in gilded bronze, featuring a coat of arms on the obverse, the reverse with the inscription за војничке враине (For Military Virtue), the medal is surmounted by a large partial wreath suspension, measures 34.0mm (w) x 52.8mm (h), light gilt wear, remains in very fine condition.

Serbia, Kingdom. Commemorative Cross for the Second Balkan War of 1915, bronze gilt, a cross pattee with obverse crowned cypher in medallion, the reverse bears the year 1913, measures 41.3mm (w) x 45.5mm (h), light wear, in very fine condition.

Serbia, Kingdom. A Commemorative Cross for the 1914-1918 War of Liberation and Union, in bronze gilt, a rounded medal with ball finials at the cardinal points, with crossed swords through the center, the obverse medallion features a right facing bust of King Petar I with the inscription петар I краљ Србија 1914 1918 (King Petar I of Serbia 1914-1918) surrounded by a wreath, the reverse bears a double headed crowned eagle, measures 39.1mm (w) x 40.2mm (h), light wear, dark patina on the obverse, remains in very fine condition.
