Serbia, Kingdom. An Order of St. Sava, IV Class
(Orden Svetog Save). Instituted in 1883. Type II (1903-1922). In silver gilt and likely of French manufacture, a lovely white and blue enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, double headed crowned eagles in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features Saint Sava in red robes, surrounded by the inscription троvломb сконмb вbса прнобрвте (One’s Own Work Achieves All), the convex reverse medallion with the year 1883 on a white background encircled by a decorative blue enamelled ring, the cross is surmounted by a crown, measures 41.5mm (w) x 67.4mm (h), weighs 24.5 grams, accompanied by a triangular ribbon (missing hook and does not attach to decoration), all enamels intact, a lovely decoration in extremely fine condition.
