Spain. A Civil War Campaign Medal Pair
An early and untouched civil war pairing, An Order of Military Merit with Red Distinction, Franco Era (1936-1976) (bronze gilt with red, white and blue enamels, 34 mm (w) x 43.5 mm (h), missing its reverse centrepiece, chipping evident in the red enamels on both sides); and Medal for the Campaign of 1936-1939 (bronze gilt and a black matte finish, maker marked "EGANA" to the right of the lion's tail on the obverse, 36.2 mm). Mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, original ribbons wrapped around a metal frame support, very fine.
