A Rare Spanish Military & Nobility Order Set 1915-1920

Trefoil Cross of the Four Military Orders (five-piece construction, silver gilt with red, green, black, blue and white enamels, unmarked, the arms of the cross illustrating (clockwise from the top) the Military Order of Santiago, the Military Order of Alcántara, the Military Order of Montesa and the Military Order of Calatrava, inscribed "REAL ORDENM" in the centre, 50.5 mm x 55 mm, on a full-length neck cord with slider, the cord in thatched gold-coloured wire and interlaced with forest green, rose and black embroidery, loop and t-post closure); accompanied by each full size order: Military Order of Santiago (silver gilt with red enamels, unmarked, 48.8 mm x 81 mm, ornate vertical pinback flanked by dual prongs); Military Order of Alcántara (silver gilt with green enamels, unmarked, 68 mm x 68.5 mm, ornate vertical pinback flanked by dual prongs); Military Order of Montesa (silver gilt with red and black enamels, unmarked, 68 mm x 68 mm, ornate vertical pinback flanked by dual prongs, scattered chipping evident in the black enamels); and Military Order of Calatrava (silver gilt with red enamels, unmarked, 67.8 mm x 68.5 mm, ornate vertical pinback flanked by dual prongs). Near extremely fine. In their custom-made display case, maker marked "JOHNSON MILANO" on the deep red velvet lined inside lid, violet velvet lined recessed medal beds, dual latch closure, dual-hinged, contact marks evident on the exterior, case better than very fine.
